Hey Jude XI 1 Colchester 9
Hey Jude went to Colchester in high spirits following the 5-3 win over
Interbears in their last match http://bettingsiteonline.co.tz/betting-sites. The management was rocked by the news that
Sammy Fenton-Elstone was unable to play due to fever and the late arrival
of Jimbee.
With this in mind the managerial duo of Chris Wickham and Paul Fitzsimmons
made a couple of changes to the side and lined up in a 4-4-2 formation

The game was played in very windy conditions and Hey Jude played the first
half with the wind to their advantage. Hey Jude dominated the start of the
game but failed to gain anything from their dominance despite coming close
on several occasions. As the game progressed Colchester came back into the
game and came close to taking the lead when Leigh sliced a clearance just
wide of his own goal for a corner.
Leigh did not let this get him down and soon gave Hey Jude the lead with a
free kick punted up the field from inside the Jude half which bounced
wickedly and with the help of the wind carried http://www.bettingsiteonline.co.tz/betting-sites it self into the net over
the despairing keeper who made the big error of coming out to far on a
windy pitch.
The game became very even before Colchester leveled the game when an
unfortunate slip from Jonno let in the Colchester forward who calmly
slotted the ball past Matt in the Hey Jude goal who was left with no
chance.
Colchester made it 2-1 before the break when after a corner and a goal
line scramble the ball finally made its way into the net with Hey Jude
bodies blocking the path of Matt Dolman who had no way of making space for
himself to save it.
The general feeling on the sideline at this time was that Hey Jude
deserved to be level and that they needed to be because the wind was going
to be hard to defend against in the second half.
Half Time Colchester 2 Hey Jude 1
The management made two changes Jim replaced Gary Evans upfront and the
enforced change of bringing Steven Smith on for Steve Johnson who was
exhausted whilst switching Dave Johnson to right wing and Smith to left
wing.
The second half was extremely tough with the wind much stronger then that
of the first half https://www.bettingsiteonline.co.tz/betting-sites and the ball spending majority of the time on the right
side of the Hey Jude setup. The game wasn't really dominated by Colchester
but the wind seemed to help them and they made it 3 shortly after half
time before adding a 4th later on. Hey Jude continued to attack and this
seemed to cause problems as Colchester were very strong on the counter
attack and hit Hey Jude harshly on the attack with some excellent
finishing off some well worked moves and were denied on occasions by some
excellent saves from Matt Dolman including one miles outside of his area.
In the end Colchester deserved the win but not by the high margin they
achieved it by the management can take some positive things out of the
game and will consider themselves unlucky to have lost by such a high
margin. Credit must go to the Colchester lads who were a brilliant set of
lads and reminded me very much of the Hey Jude spirit. In all a disappointing
result but the weather played a big impact in that.
*(Ed - Jonno) Note - One of the 7 conceded in the
second-half was a fantastic own goal by Rik Scales. A high ball was played
by a Colchester player onto Rik who was near the byline, the ball went
over his and he flicked the ball with his foot, which went flew over the
defence and Supes to go in the goal!!
(Ed) Thanks to Steven Smith
for the very informative match report!
